Wide Bay Advocacy offers free legal advice, advocacy and education in the following areas:

Pro Bono Legal Advice

Wide Bay Advocacy provides pro bono legal advice to people experiencing hardship or who are vulnerable to disadvantage within the Wide Bay region.

The services include:

  • Advice sessions
  • Face-to-face consultations
  • Telephone/video call consultations
  • Provision of information/referrals

Bundaberg Street Law

We provide free legal advice outreach clinics for people experiencing homelessness or those at risk of homelessness in Bundaberg.

Outreach clinics are held at:

  • 59 Woongarra St, Bundaberg QLD 4670
  • Thursdays 11:30am-1pm and Saturdays 3:30pm – 5pm

Specialised Advocacy

We provide free specialised advocacy services to people experiencing hardship or who are vulnerable to disadvantage, their family members and carers that support them to safeguard their rights, experience equality and overcome barriers that can affect their ability to participate in the community and access services.

Community Legal Education

Community Legal Education activities are coordinated to increase awareness, understanding and critical examination of the law and legal system.

This enables members of the community to:

  • Avoid legal disputes arising
  • Resolve legal problems when they do arise
  • Pursue justice

Community Training and Workshops

Wide Bay Advocacy is a Be Connected Network Partner committed to assisting over 50s to develop digital skills and confidence. We aim to empower everyone to use the internet and everyday technology to thrive in our digital world.

Systemic Advocacy

Systemic advocacy seeks to influence broader policies and service outcomes to improve the lives of people experiencing hardship or who are vulnerable to disadvantage. We advocate for equitable access to and quality of services, and for human rights to be respected.

Through our systemic advocacy, we seek to influence Local, State and National policies and service delivery to improve the lives of the people we work for.
